About Me

I am your proud NC House Representative for District 57 (Northern Greensboro). In August 2024, I was elected by Guilford County Democratic Party leaders and appointed by Gov. Cooper to finish my predecessor’s term and replace her on the ballot. That November, I was proudly elected by an overwhelming 68% of voters - thank you to the 31,986 voters who put their trust and faith behind me! I have worked tirelessly this biennium to represent ALL of my constituents and I hope to continue serving as your NC House Rep. for the 2026-2028 term!

In my first legislative term, I:

  • Served as co-chair of the freshmen caucus (12 members)
  • Led the creation of HB250, supporting active military business owners while deployed that passed the NC House unanimously
  • Primary sponsored 27 bills (aka bills I led the creation/introduction)
  • Cosponsored 176 bills (8 ultimately became law)
  • Hosted five town halls, attended 100+ events/meetings/tours, and personally responded to 1k+ constituent emails
  • Gave five floor speeches, eight press conferences, and 25+ media interviews
  • Raised $70k for my campaign and the NC House Democratic caucus so that we can hopefully regain the majority by 2030.

Previously, I was head of marketing and sat on the board of directors at a NC-based wealth management firm with 75 employees that we successfully sold to Modera Wealth Management. I have more than 15 years of marketing experience across the financial services, technology and online media sectors.

I am the president of Women 2 Women Greensboro, a group of 210+ members committed to growing our $5 million endowment at the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro to provide large-scale grants to women and children in need here in Guilford County. Under my leadership, we transitioned our event strategy from a luncheon to a gala, resulting in a 319% increase in donations and a 138% increase in overall profit. In 2025 we granted out $360,000 to 10 amazing non-profits in our community, bringing our total donations to $2.2 million since 2010.

In 2024 before raising my hand for public office I completed the NC Institute of Public Leadership fellowship, a non-partisan curriculum that develops future political leaders at all levels of NC government.

My heart is here in North Carolina where I was born and raised. I am a three-time Tar Heel (Go Heels!). I graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in 2012 with the School's first MBA/MSIS from Kenan-Flagler Business School and the School of Information and Library Science. In grad school, I was president of the Business Technology Club at Kenan-Flagler. I graduated from UNC’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication with a multimedia degree in 2007, and in my senior year I was president of the Society for News Design. I truly seek leadership positions at every chapter in my life!

I live in Northern Shores with my husband and two daughters. I enjoy running, playing tennis, and traveling with family and friends.
