My heart is here in North Carolina where I was born and raised.
My mama bear plea:
I am a mother, wife, friend, businesswoman, advocate, and philanthropist. I am not a politician. Or shall we say, I wasn’t until I became angry enough to get off the sidelines and speak out and vote against the MAGA extremism we are seeing in today’s society.
I am a mother in America who is tired of seeing my children's public schools underfunded due to MAGA prioritizing private school vouchers for wealthy families rather than public schools that educate 84% of children across our state.
I am a mother in America who is tired of seeing sweet, innocent children shot and killed due to MAGA caring more about their 2nd Amendment right than a child's right to life. The irony in that statement is not lost on me.
I am a mother in America who is tired of seeing my gas, grocery, and utility bills skyrocket and my constituents struggle to live paycheck to paycheck due to MAGA caring more about billionaires and lobbyists from big corporations lining their campaign accounts.
I am a mother. And I am tired. But I'm will continue to be a big, loud NO vote against the extreme MAGA agenda and GOP dysfunction until our country and state rids itself of this MAGA cult and the hatred, bigotry, sexism, racism, misinformation, disinformation, fraud, and corruption that comes with it. About Me:
I am your proud NC House Representative for District 57 (Northern Greensboro). In August 2024, I was elected by Guilford County Democratic Party leaders and appointed by Gov. Cooper to finish my predecessor’s term and replace her on the ballot. That November, I was proudly elected by an overwhelming 68% of voters - thank you to the 31,986 voters who put their trust and faith behind me! I have worked tirelessly this biennium to represent ALL of my constituents and I am proudly unopposed this Midterm, thus will continue serving as your NC House Rep. for the 2026-2028 term!
Driven by Results:
In my first legislative term, I:
- Served as co-chair of the freshmen caucus (12 members)
- Led the creation of HB250, supporting active military business owners while deployed, which passed the NC House unanimously and signed into law within SB445: Regulatory Reform Act of 2026.
- Primary sponsored 35 bills (aka bills I led the creation/introduction)
- Cosponsored 290 bills (10+ ultimately became law)
- Helped secure $10M+ for Guilford County in the budget (GTCC; water/wastewater; Nussbaum; Folk Fest)
- Hosted five town halls, attended 100+ events/meetings/tours, and personally responded to 1k+ constituent emails
- Gave five floor speeches, eight press conferences, and 25+ media interviews
- Raised $70k for my campaign and the NC House Democratic caucus so that we can hopefully regain the majority by 2030.
